Two Men Stabbed on 7 Train in Woodside Sunday: NYPD

(52nd Street station)

July 6, 2020 By Michael Dorgan

Two men were stabbed– including a 73-year old– while on the 7 train in Woodside Sunday morning.

The victims were sitting on a Manhattan-bound train– between 61st Street and 52nd Street– at around 7:25 a.m. when a man pulled out a pocket knife and started shouting at the first victim.

“Why aren’t you home with your wife and kids?” shouted the man, who was later arrested and identified as Patrick Chambers.

Chambers, 46, from the Bronx, then stabbed the victim in the stomach and the chest in what police say was an unprovoked attack.

A 73-year-old man tried to intervene and stop the attack but Chambers stabbed him on the left wrist and upper chest, police said.

Chambers was arrested by police after the train pulled into the 52nd St. station. He has been charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

The two victims were transferred by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to police.

Crime is out of control on the streets and in our transit system. This happened during the morning rush hour. We need an active police presence to keep us safe from harm. Hope the victims recover fully from this traumatic experience.

This is why anyone who has a clean criminal record should be allowed to open-carry. People will think twice if they see armed civilians within their vicinity.

Assaults, groping, stabbing on the trains, people getting pushed in front of incoming trains . What does the Mayor of NYC have to say about this ? The 7 train last year had metal pieces falling onto cars , train service is bad & dangerous, the city is falling apart

The Mayor of NYC Bill DeBlasio opens the doors of Rikers Island and defunds the NYPD . Is anyone really surprised about the increase of violence plaguing the city ?

DeBlasio city ?

Mayor DeBlasio worries about painting the city with BLM, but is ok with the increase of violence, stabbing, shooting , assaults. Close Rikers Island ? . You people want it , you’ll get it ?

You asked for it.

And people protesting against adding those extra police officers in the subways and train stations , defund the police doesn’t help fight crime.

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
