Police are searching for a group of suspects who raided a car dealership in Elmhurst overnight Sunday and made off with more than two dozen vehicles.

The alleged thieves stole 26 vehicles from Carsiri Queens, located at 74-38 Queens Blvd, having broken into the premises some time between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday, police said.

The suspects cracked the lock of the front gate and then grabbed the keys to each of the stolen vehicles from inside an office at the location, the NYPD said.

They allegedly stole a variety of vehicles, including Hondas, Fords, Chevrolets, Audis and Hyundais, police said. The stolen vehicles were mostly 2018 and 2019 models, the NYPD said.

Police said that each suspect drove multiple vehicles off the lot to complete the heist. Police did not say how many suspects were part of the crew.

The stolen vehicles were noticed missing when workers at the dealership opened up for business Monday, police said.

The theft comes about three weeks after a similar heist was pulled off at a car dealership in Jamaica.

Thieves stole 20 luxury cars from 156-02 Liberty Ave. after breaking the lock on the gate and driving off with BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes and Audis, police said. Two of the stolen vehicles were later recovered.

Police did not say if the two incidents were linked.

Note to Car Dealers:
Buy a 500 pound safe (like a gunsafe) and store all valuables and keys. And get a Rottweiler to watch office.

Note to Jewelry Store owners:

Invest in Jewelry display cases made of shatterproof safety glass. And install a police panic button.

Problem solved.
