Six people were treated for stab wounds after they were ambushed by a group of knife-wielding men in Corona just before midnight Sunday.
The victims were standing near the corner of 111th Street and 43rd Avenue when the men brandishing the knives approached them, police said.
The group then attacked the victims, police said, before fleeing the scene on foot northbound on 111th Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they found four victims with knife wounds.
A 29-year-old and 22-year old both were slashed in the head. A 24-year-old man suffered a stab wound in the left side of his torso and left leg, and a 26-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the stomach, police said.
The 29-year-old refused medical attention, while the 22-year-old and the 26-year-old were taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The 24-year-old was rushed to New York Presbyterian – Queens, police said.
A fifth victim, another 22-year-old man, flagged down a passing ambulance. He had a stab wound to his back and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Police later learned of a sixth victim, a 24-year-old man, who walked into Flushing Hospital soon after the attack.
All six victims are in stable condition, police said.
The NYPD has yet to make any arrests, but the stabbings are believed to be gang-related. The investigation is ongoing.
