Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a Woodside bank at gunpoint Friday.

The suspect allegedly entered the Citizen Bank branch, located at 51-20 Northern Blvd., at around 2 p.m. and displayed a firearm before demanding cash, according to police.

The bank, which was previously occupied by HSBC bank, is located inside the Tower Square shopping mall.

The bank teller did not comply with the assailant’s demand for cash. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect is described as black, and was last seen wearing all gray-colored clothing, cops said.

There were no injuries and an investigation is ongoing.

Police did not provide any more details pertaining to the incident.
