Police Release Photos of Man Who Stole 60K from Elmhurst Bar

Suspect (NYPD) and Sal Y Pimienta (Google)

Sept. 17, 2018 By Tara Law

Police have released photos of a man who allegedly stole $60,000 and a video surveillance system from an Elmhurst bar last month.

Police say that the suspect burglarized Sal Y Pimienta, a bar at 81-10 Roosevelt Ave., on Aug. 5 at around 8:25 a.m.

The suspect got inside the bar by cutting a lock on the security gate, police say. He took $60,000 and the security system, and walked off west on Roosevelt Avenue.

Police say that the suspect is a Hispanic man in his 30s. He is described as being about 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, and with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, a white button-down shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

My guess is he will visit the criminal defense attorney above the bar now. What person doesn’t notice a guy by himself cutting open a padlock.
