A man was fatally struck by a subway train in Astoria Thursday afternoon after slipping off the platform while urinating on the tracks.
The 27-year-old victim fell in front of an R train at around 3:35 p.m. as it pulled into the 46th Street station, according to police.
The NYPD said the straphanger was standing on the platform and urinating onto the tracks. He then slipped and fell onto the railway before being hit by the oncoming train.
The man appeared to be intoxicated before falling, police said.
First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene and removed his body from the tracks.
Police do not suspect criminality and were unable to provide any further information.
The man’s identity has not been released.
The Forest Hills-71st Ave.-bound M and R trains were bypassing the 46 Street station while police investigated the scene. The MTA announced at around 6 p.m. that normal service at the station had resumed.

This comment is meant for another article. (The article about Mayor Adams’ proposed budget cuts.) However, the algorithm of this publication will not allow it because it is my second comment. Even though completely different from my first comment, it is alleged to be a duplicate!
The new mayor’s “true colors” are starting to show, in force. Heaven help us.
