A man was fatally stabbed in Woodside early Monday by a suspect who he had been drinking with.

The police responded to a 911 call at around 2:45 a.m. after being notified that a man was stabbed on the corner of 69th Street and Roosevelt Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene, they observed a 55-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso.

The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health & Hospitals/Queens where he was pronounced dead, police said. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending family notification.

Police are still trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death. It isn’t clear where the pair were drinking prior to the stabbing or what prompted the fatal attack.

The NYPD, however, did say the victim and the suspect were both intoxicated at the time of the stabbing.

The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing and has not been caught, the NYPD said. Police were unable to provide a description of the assailant.
