March 15, 2021 By Christina Santucci

Police are looking for a knife-wielding assailant who slashed and stabbed a 24-year-old man in Woodside Friday evening.

The attacker approached the victim near 67-18 Roosevelt Ave. at about 5:30 p.m. and then pulled out a knife. He then slashed the 24-year-old in the hand and stabbed him in the chest, according to the NYPD.

Afterward, the suspect fled, and the injured man was taken to the hospital. Police said the victim was expected to survive, and nothing was stolen during the stabbing.

The victim did not know the individual who attacked him, according to police.

Cops released a photo of attacker, and asked anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) — or submit tips to the CrimeStoppers website.
