A man was found stabbed to death inside an Elmhurst subway station early Friday morning, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was stabbed in the upper chest at approximately 5:42 a.m. on the southbound platform of the Grand Avenue-Newtown M and R station. The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was described as being in his 40s or 50s, PIX 11 reported.

There have been no arrests made, and police said they did not have any information regarding a motive or a description of the suspect.

The MTA says M and R trains are bypassing the station in both directions due to the ongoing investigation, and advise to use the Elmhurst Ave. or Woodhaven Blvd. stations instead.

Anyone with information has been asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips to the CrimeStoppers website.
