Man Found Dead in Elmhurst Home, Sparks Police Investigation

Police are investigating the cause of death of a 39-year-old man who was found lifeless lying on the kitchen floor of his Elmhurst home Saturday morning.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call at around 10:30 a.m. and found Santos Quiej unconscious and unresponsive, lying face down on the kitchen floor of his house on 50th Avenue, near 94th Street.

EMS rushed to the home and pronounced Quiej dead at the scene, police said.

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner and the investigation is ongoing.

The number of grand larcenies across Queens was down during the 28-day period from March 18 to April 14, compared to the same period of time last year, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD Monday. At the same time, rapes and robberies decreased significantly in northern and southern Queens, respectively.
