A man is fighting for his life after he was discovered unconscious under the Long Island Expressway in Corona Saturday morning.

Police responded to a 7:45 am call and discovered the victim unconscious and unresponsive, at the intersection of 108th Street and Horace Harding, under the LIE. The man had suffered a blunt force trauma to the back of his head, police said.

EMS transported him to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he is likely to die, according to a NYPD spokeswoman.

Police believe the man is homeless, as he was discovered near a homeless encampment, the spokeswoman said.

There are no suspects at this time and no arrest has been made. The assault is under investigation.
