Man Brandished Knife Inside Roosevelt Avenue Subway Station: NYPD

Jan. 23, 2020 By Allie Griffin

A man brandished a knife and threatened to stab a fellow straphanger inside the Roosevelt Avenue subway station earlier this month.

The suspect and a 26-year-old man got into a verbal dispute inside the station on the E line on Jan. 3 at 4:30 p.m. He then took out a knife and threatened the 26-year-old with it, police said.

The knife-wielding suspect didn’t go through with the attack, but instead fled the scene on foot. There were no injuries related to the incident, police said.

The suspect man is wanted for questioning. He is described as 20 to 30 years old and was last seen wearing a black, white and gray jacket and dark pants.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips.
