Hundreds of residents took part in an event in Corona Friday to mark the last day of the Christmas season.

The event, which celebrated Three Kings Day, saw dozens of vendors and volunteers — including elected officials — distribute free toys and food at Corona Plaza, an outdoor area located at 103rd St. and Roosevelt Ave.

Three Kings Day is a Christian feast day that celebrates when the Three Wise Men brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the newborn baby Jesus in Bethlehem, according to the Bible. It also marks the final day of Christmas, also known as the Epiphany.

Vendors and volunteers at the event in Corona replicated the Three Wise Men’s act of giving by distributing various toys, food, drinks, and supplies to residents. There was also a DJ playing live music.

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Assembly Members Catalina Cruz and Jessica González-Rojas, as well as New York Attorney General Letitia James, were among those in attendance.

The elected officials were seen disseminating toys and supplies to children and families.

The event was organized by the Street Vendor Project of the Urban Justice Center and the Queens Economic Development Corporation.
