A Flushing business organization has launched a free food tour for tourists coming to Queens for events like the U.S. Open.

The Flushing BID is offering its first ever “Free Flushing Food Tour” where it will take tourists from select hotels on a guided tour of restaurants in the downtown Flushing area in August and September. The visitors will be provided with free samples from participating restaurants that are all located in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Main Street.

The samples will range from handcrafted wontons to Asian-inspired ice cream flavors.

The participating businesses include Betong Hainan Chicken, White Bear, Legend Chicken, Flushing Ice Cream Factory, Fish With You, Xing Fu Tang, New Flushing Bakery, Partea, and Afternoon.

The idea is to help tourists become more familiar with what Flushing has to offer, in the hope that they will come back to dine at local eateries.

“Flushing is home to one of New York’s most diverse communities and is crowned for its vibrant authentic food scene and to promote it, Flushing BID is launching its first ever Free Flushing Food Tour,” the business organization said.

The Flushing BID is holding four tours—Aug. 20, Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Sept 17. Each tour has 15 spots available. The tour is only available to guests of nearby hotels.

The BID may be adding additional tours based on demand. To register, visitors can click on the following site.
