A four-alarm fire tore through a commercial building in Jackson Heights Thursday night damaging several storefronts.
The blaze began at around 10:50 p.m. inside a restaurant located at 37-54 74th St., according to the FDNY.
The fire, which started in the basement area at Prince Kebab & Chinese Restaurant, swept through five other storefronts that occupy the building, the FDNY said.
The FDNY dispatched a total of 39 units consisting of around 170 firefighters to tackle the inferno.
Firefighters eventually brought the fire under control at around 4:10 a.m., the NYPD said.
Seven firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transferred to a local hospital. There were no reports of any civilian injuries.
The FDNY did not say what caused the fire.
