An Elmhurst man who downloaded thousands of videos and pictures of young girls engaged in sex acts pleaded guilty to a child porn-related charges Monday, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
Jaime Lozano, 58, is expected to serve two consecutive four year terms after police discovered that he had 316 videos and 2,665 still images of children as young as two being sexually assaulted on his computer. The defendant had been sharing these images on Emule, a peer-to-peer network, for two years prior to his April 2014 arrest.
Lozano pleaded guilty to two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.
“The defendant has admitted to collecting very disturbing photographs and videos of children being abused,” said Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown in a statement. “These images are – for all intents and purposes – crime scenes and the abuse the children endured is very real and will be with them forever.”
Lozano, who was an architect, will be sentenced on July 7.
