A crook on a pink butterfly bicycle stole a 10-year-old girl’s phone as she was walking to school in North Corona Wednesday morning.
The heartless thief biked up to the girl near 102-02 34th Ave. and snatched the phone right from the girl’s hand at around 8 a.m., police said.
He grabbed the phone from the girl’s hand with such force that the 10-year-old had to have her hand treated by a school nurse.
He biked off southbound on 102nd Street. Police described the bicycle as pink and white with butterflies on it.
Police released surveillance footage of the suspect from a bodega located by the crime scene.
Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
