Police arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in their Corona home Saturday.
Police say that 30-year-old Edwin Sarmiento stabbed Juliet Ximena Galindo Puentes, also 30, inside their 58-27 Van Cleef St. housing unit at around 4:15 a.m.
The NYPD responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress and found Galindo Puentes with multiple stab wounds about the body. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
Officers canvassed the area and then found Sarmiento nearby and took him into custody. A knife was also recovered at the scene.
Police charged him with murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
