A construction worker is dead after falling from a bridge in Flushing Tuesday morning and being struck by a car when he landed on the Van Wyck Expressway, according to police.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, fell from the Roosevelt Avenue Bridge—which crosses the Flushing Creek between Willets Point and downtown Flushing—at around 10:50 a.m. and landed on the northbound lane of the Expressway. He was then hit by an oncoming vehicle.

The worker was transported by EMS to New York Presbyterian Hospital with head and body trauma in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries soon after, police said.
