Man Found Dead on Playground Bench in Elmhurst: NYPD

A man was found dead on a park bench in Elmhurst yesterday morning, according to police.

At around 8 a.m. on Dec. 26, police received a 911 call of an unconscious man inside Moore Homestead Playground at 82 Street and 45 Avenue.

The man, yet to be identified as of press time, was lying on a park bench unconscious and unresponsive when police found him.

EMS later pronounced the man dead on the scene.

An NYPD spokesperson could not provide an approximate age for the man, and said he had no I.D. on his person.

The unidentified man was possibly homeless, the spokesperson added.

The medical examiner is determining the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
