A number of Queens-based vendors will gather to sell handmade and other artisan goods at an area winter market next week.

The event will be held at East Elmhurst’s Bulova Corporate Center, located at 75-20 Astoria Blvd., from Dec. 17-19, and marks the first winter market for Bulova.

The three-day market, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., was organized in partnership with MiQ, formerly known as Made in Queens, a tangent of the Queens Economic Development Corporation that aims to promote local makers and manufacturers.

The public will be able to sort through and purchase goods ranging from handmade accessories, jewelry, homemade bath and shower products and more from the lineup of vendors, who will set up at the center’s atrium.

Confirmed local vendors that will be in attendance at the free-admittance event include Treestar NYC, which sells homemade body products; Embellished life, which sells hand-embroidered hair accessories; R+D, which creates “fun and kitschy” 3-D printed jewelry; and Sandra Smith, which makes handmade baskets and bags with custom messages.

The Queens Theatre and Queens Museum, according to MiQ, will also be at the market to provide information about their programs and season passes.

So they’re going to hold it three weekdays during hours most people work. So the only people that can attend are retirees, those who work night shifts, and the unemployed. Why not have it on a weekend where people can actually go?/? Bad decision

Op-Ed | Hochul: Action is Imperative on Shoplifting, but Violent Crime is Just Fine

Negotiations regarding the New York State budget have just concluded a few days ago and a budget has passed after more than two weeks of delays. But while Gov. Kathy Hochul has proclaimed this year’s ‘bold agenda’ aims to make New York ‘safer,’ there hasn’t been so much as a whisper about the safety issue New Yorkers actually care about – New York States’s dangerous bail reform laws and the State’s absence of a ‘dangerousness standard,’ which would allow judges to detain without bail those defendants that pose a present a clear and present danger to our communities. (The 49 other states and the federal government have a dangerousness standard. NY State is the only state that lacks this essential protection from the State’s most dangerous offenders.)
