Masked man rapes woman in Jackson Heights, police say

A masked man grabbed a 35-year-old woman, put a sharp object against her throat and then raped her in Jackson Heights Wednesday, according to police.

The suspect allegedly followed the woman who was walking home from work at about 4:30 am near 84th Street and 35th Avenue then demanded money, grabbed her and threatened her with a sharp object against her throat.

The suspect then forced the woman into an alley between two houses and raped her. He then fled down the alley and climbed over a fence leading to 83rd street and ran off in an unknown direction, according to police.

Minutes prior to the incident, the suspect is seen on surveillance video putting on a mask and waiting for the victim to pass. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic who is 5’4″, slim build and was last seen wearing a mask, a dark colored shirt and jeans.

Couple assaults, robs subway rider at the Woodhaven Boulevard station in Elmhurst: NYPD

Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst and Transit District 20 are looking for a couple who robbed a subway rider at the Woodhaven Boulevard station near the Queens Center Mall on the night of Thursday, May 29.

A 45-year-old victim was walking through the station at around 9:15 p.m. when he was approached by a man and a woman. When she asked him for money, her partner punched the victim in the back of his shoulder. The two strangers forcibly removed $1,500 from his pockets and fled the station onto Woodhaven Boulevard in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries but was not hospitalized after the encounter, police said Tuesday.
