A man police believe has robbed gas stations across Queens at gunpoint struck again early Thursday in Corona.
The man went up to a gas station attendant, a 49-year-old man, at a Gulf gas station at 94-03 Corona Ave. around 1:55 a.m. and asked what antifreeze costs, police said.
Cops say the suspect then pulled a gun on the attendant and demanded money.
The attendant handed over $400 in cash, and the suspect took off south down 94th Street on foot, according to police.
The police describe the suspect as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 170 pounds and Hispanic. He has been seen wearing a dark blue hoodie, tan pants and brown boots.
The first robbery took place at an East Elmhurst Sunoco Gas Station at 88-20 Astoria Boulevard on Feb. 17, police say.
The suspect allegedly pulled up in a silver BMW M3, which was driven by another man, at 2:55 a.m. The suspect hopped out of the car, pointed a gun at the gas station attendant and demanded that he hand over money, according to police. When the attendant ran away, the two men drove east down Astoria Boulevard.
The BMW driver is 5 foot 9 inches tall, 170 pounds and Hispanic, police say. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and dark grey pants.
The man who handled the gun is also wanted for three other gas station robberies, which took place within a 24-hour period.
The suspect drove up to a Gulf gas station at 111-06 Van Wyck Expressway in South Ozone Park on March 5 at 3 a.m. in a dark colored sedan, cops say. He got out of the car, pointed a gun at the attendant and demanded money. The employee gave the man $40 in cash. The suspect then drove off south on the Van Wyck Service Road.
The suspect then pulled up in a dark colored sedan to a Gulf gas station at 153-28 Rockaway Boulevard in Jamaica at 11:20 p.m. the same day. He approached an employee, a 64-year-old man, and pointed a gun at him.
The suspect demanded money and took $350 in cash from the register. He also took the employee’s cell phone and an additional $100. The suspect then drove away south down Rockaway Boulevard.
The man also allegedly robbed a Gastrac gas station at 50-35 Northern Boulevard in Woodside at 1:20 a.m. the next day. The suspect followed a 54-year-old male employee into his kiosk, pointed a gun at him and asked for money. The employee gave him $300 in cash from the register, and the suspect drove away east on Northern Boulevard in the dark colored sedan.
