A 17-year-old student was shot in the arm near Maspeth High School Wednesday afternoon.

The teen was shot by one of two male suspects at around 1:30 p.m. outside 74-02 Grand Ave., a pharmacy located on the same block as the high school, according to police.

The victim ran into Maspeth High School after being struck in the left arm, according to published reports. He is a student at the school and the son of an NYPD officer, according to the New York Post.

The injured teen was then transported to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The incident stemmed from an argument between the victim and the two suspects, police said.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled down 74th Street on scooters and were arrested shortly after, according to police and reports. Police have not released the identities of the suspects and did not say if they are students at Maspeth High School.

Maspeth High School was put into lockdown following the incident, according to the NYPD’s School Safety Division. The lockdown was lifted after 3 p.m., according to a tweet by the agency.
