During the 28-day period from Dec. 4-31, the number of robberies rose 54.2% in northern Queens, from 118 cases in 2022 to 182 in 2023. The most significant increase was seen in the 110th Precinct, which oversees Corona and Elmhurst. Cases there rose from 18 to 52. Felony assault cases have increased in both northern and southern Queens for the 28-day period from Nov. 20 through Dec. 17, compared to the same 28-day period last year. Nov. 29, 2023 By Bill Parry Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst and Transit District 20 are looking for the three teenage boys who allegedly threw ice at an on-duty MTA subway conductor as she was operating the train doors at the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station during the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 18. Police say the three boys threw ice at her, striking her in the face before running out of the station in an unknown direction, police said. Nov. 28, 2023 By Bill Parry Police from the 110th Precinct are looking for a gunman and his three accomplices who robbed a corner deli in Corona on Nov. 26. Police say the robbery crew entered Red Delicious Deli & Grocery just before midnight when the ringleader pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. A 22-year old store worker and his fellow employee, a 32-year-old man, complied and the robbers left with $12,000 in cash and MetroCards, police said.
