Police are searching for a man who punched a passenger in the face on a 7 train as it pulled into the 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue station late last month.

The suspect allegedly punched the victim, a 40-year-old man, in the face and head after getting into a dispute on a Manhattan-bound train on Nov. 26 at around 3:50 p.m.

The assailant fled the train after it stopped at the 90th Street station.

The victim suffered multiple injuries including a cut to his left ear as well as swelling and bruising to the face. He was treated at Elmhurst Hospital and has since been released.

Police say the suspect is black and is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black du-rag, a black jacket and black sneakers.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

The guy in the photo is clearly wearing an orange du-rag. Or is that just a photo of a random dude blowing smoke?

Great point Anonymous. That looks like a face book photo. That picture was not taken on a train so how do they know that is the perpetrator? They dont know his name but they got his instagram?

If that jerk tried that with me, I’d hold half his body outside the open train door until the police came. Can’t stand when jerks get away like this.
