NYPD: Man Pilfered Cash from Mosque’s Donation Box

Police have released a photo of a man who allegedly broke into an Elmhurst mosque and stole from its donation box.

Police say that the thief broke into Masjid Al-Taufiq, a mosque located at 41-02 Forley St., on Sept. 17 at around 8:35 a.m.

The suspect rifled through the donation box and made off with about $50.

Police describe the suspect as an Asian male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with curly black hair.
