NYPD: Man Stabbed Outside Corona Bar During Robbery Attempt

A 22-year-old man was stabbed during an attempted robbery earlier this month while standing outside a Corona bar, police said.

The victim was in front of Salon Mexico, a bar located at 97-15 37th Ave., when he was approached by two men at 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 5 who demanded his cellphone and cash. When the victim refused, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest and back, police said.

The victim was taken to Flushing Hospital where he was treated and released. The two suspects fled eastbound on 37th Avenue empty handed, according to police.

The suspects are both Hispanic and the police captured a photo of one of the perpetrators at a nearby store.

Masked gunman robs Total Wireless store in Flushing, steals $6K: NYPD

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for a masked gunman who pulled off an armed robbery at a cell phone store on the night of Monday, May 5.

The suspect entered the Total Wireless shop located in the old Hua Cheng Restaurant at 41-19 Kissena Blvd., across the street from the Queens Public Library branch, just before 7 p.m. He approached the counter, pulled out a firearm, and threatened the 27-year-old woman who was working the night shift, police said Wednesday.
