One Man Stabbed to Death and Another Slashed in Corona

The victim was a resident of 35-18 103rd St. and was found outside 35-20

One man was stabbed to death and another was slashed in Corona early Sunday.

The men were discovered by police responding to a 911 call about an assault near 35-20 103rd St. around 4:22 a.m. The police found Luis Apolonio, 29, lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds. Apolonio had collapsed steps from his front door.

A 34-year-old man was also found nearby with a slash wound across his right leg.

The two men were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where Apolonio was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. Police are investigating the incident.
