Police are searching for a man who impersonated a police officer as part of an attempt to commit a robbery in Corona on Jan. 18.
The 23-year-old victim was walking down the street near 103rd Street and Corona Avenue around 2 a.m. when a tan minivan pulled up to him and stopped, police say. The suspect got out of the minivan and approached the victim.
The man told the victim that he was a police officer and searched his pockets. He then left the scene empty handed.
The suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year-old black man. He is about 6 feet tall and 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing.

our city major keep saying that this city is the safety one in all years that is not thru we keep seeing more and more crime everyday and all the city we has to get rid of this major now they want to open small detention center in our borough
Crime is on the rise and more police e protection is needed.
More foot patrol is needed, hopefully we’ll see that in the Spring & Summer time
