A 21-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping and raping his ex girlfriend during a day-long ordeal Saturday, according to police.

Jonathan Coronel, who lives in Jackson Heights, allegedly ran into his 18-year-old ex girlfriend near a shoe store on the corner of 81st Street and Northern Boulevard around 9:30 Saturday.

His ex ran into the store but Coronel followed her in, pulled out a knife and forced her into his car in front of 32-65 85th Street, according to police. He threatened anyone who tried to intervene.

He then allegedly drove off with his ex in the back seat.

Police said that he then dropped off his former girlfriend at the corner of 82nd Street  and Astoria Boulevard at 9:40 pm.

Coronel was later picked up by police at 88 Street/24 Avenue in East Elmhurst later that evening without incident, according to police. He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital with a self-inflicted stab wound to the torso and is listed in stable condition.

Coronel was arrested and then charged Sunday with rape, robbery, kidnapping, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment and criminal contempt.
