Two large residential buildings are planned to go up in East Elmhurst.

Plans were filed with the Department of Buildings on Oct. 6 for the construction of a four-story building at 32-17 112th Street near the Flushing Bay waterfront.

The building will consist of six apartments, which will share 32,000 square feet of residential space.

On the first floor, there will be one apartment and one enclosed parking spot. There will be two apartments on the second floor and one on the third and fourth floors. The fourth floor will also include half a duplex that leads up to a penthouse.

The property is being developed by Chen Wu of 112nd Street Construction LLC. An auto repair shop is currently located on the site. Demolition permits have yet to be filed, and the expected completion date has not been released.

Meanwhile, a six-story development is likely to go up on the corner of Northern Boulevard and 107th Street, reports real estate publication YIMBY.

The renderings were released to YIMBY yesterday.

The building, which has an address of 32-65 107th St, will consist of 20 apartments, with the apartments on average being about 1,000 square feet apiece, YIMBY reported.

The structure will also feature 3,077 square feet of retail space on the ground floor divided between four stores. The proposal includes ten parking spaces.

The building is being developed by Qin Li of Triple 8 Real Properties. It will replace an auto body shop.

Op-Ed | Hochul: Action is Imperative on Shoplifting, but Violent Crime is Just Fine

Negotiations regarding the New York State budget have just concluded a few days ago and a budget has passed after more than two weeks of delays. But while Gov. Kathy Hochul has proclaimed this year’s ‘bold agenda’ aims to make New York ‘safer,’ there hasn’t been so much as a whisper about the safety issue New Yorkers actually care about – New York States’s dangerous bail reform laws and the State’s absence of a ‘dangerousness standard,’ which would allow judges to detain without bail those defendants that pose a present a clear and present danger to our communities. (The 49 other states and the federal government have a dangerousness standard. NY State is the only state that lacks this essential protection from the State’s most dangerous offenders.)
