71-year-old mowed down in hit-and-run in Jackson Heights Wednesday

A 71-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck in a hit and run in Jackson Heights yesterday.

The victim was walking across Northern Boulevard near 85th Street at about 4:00 pm Wednesday when he was hit by a black sedan, police said. The driver then fled the scene.

The man was taken by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital.

The police are investigating the incident.
