Enraged man threatens to blow up Elmhurst Hospital, upset by quality of daughter’s care

July 17, 2017 By Jason Cohen

A Brooklyn man who felt his infant daughter was not getting the proper care at Elmhurst Hospital on Thursday threatened to “shoot it up or blow it up,” referencing the recent shooting at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, the police said.

According to an NYPD spokesman, at about 3:20 p.m., Jamar Claiborne, 34, called the hospital at 79-01 Broadway, and said “You know what happened at Bronx-Lebanon, I have no issue with doing the same thing. I would kill for my daughter, I don’t care, I have been in the service, I have a crazy card, I know I will be arrested.”

Claiborne was arrested on Friday and charged with three counts of making terroristic threats, three counts of aggravated harassment and three counts of harassment.

Claiborne was arraigned Saturday and is being held at Rikers Island on $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond. He has been ordered back to court on July 28.

This hospital is only good for trauma…anything else you better off going to a hospital in Manhattan. My dad had to spend a few nights and the room was stuffy! No AC they told us to bring a fan into the room then on top of that he had a urine infection and they said he didn’t have an infection. He goes to another hospital and they said yes he has infection and they gave him antibiotics. After a few days he felt better so yeah public hospital in general just isn’t as good as private.
