DA: Jackson Heights man who placed ad seeking ‘virgins’ arrested for trying to meet 13-year old for sex

July 5, 2017 By Christian Murray

A Jackson Heights man who placed an ad on Craigslist seeking ‘virgins’ and high school girls was arrested last week after attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

Oscar J. Zagalo, who posted the explicit ad, began an online conversation with an undercover cop who responded claiming to be a 13-year-old girl. The pair arranged to meet up on June 30 and Zagalo was arrested by police upon arriving, according to the District Attorney’s office.

Zagalo was arraigned on June 30 and charged with one count of second-degree attempted rape, one count of second-degree attempted criminal sex act and other charges. He faces up to 4 years in prison if convicted.

Police were alerted to Zagalo by his Craigslist ad that appeared to be targeting minors.

“Hello HS and Virgin Girls…Would you like to lose it (M4W),” Zagalo’s ad read. “Servicing any inexperienced girl willing to loose (sic) it, any age. You have me climb through your window at night or I can host. I’m very experienced and skilled….”

Next to the ad, which was posted June 24, was a photo of an exposed erect penis, according to the DA’s office.

Queens District Attorney Richard A Brown said that cases such as these “clearly illustrate the dangers today’s children and parents face when it comes to the internet and why it is necessary to take precautions.”

Zagalo, who was ordered held on $50,000, has to return to court July 6.
