NYPD: Woman kicked in the stomach at 74th Street station after chasing a man who stole her purse

A woman was kicked in the stomach at the 74th Street Roosevelt Avenue station last week after chasing a man who had stolen her purse, police said.

The victim was going through the turnstile at around 10:40pm on Monday, May 22, when the alleged perpetrator began to harass her before snatching her purse from her shoulder and running town the staircase toward the street.

The woman then followed the suspect and caught up with him, before being kicked numerous times in the chest and stomach. The alleged perpetrator then took $300 from the woman’s purse and threw it on the ground. The suspect then ran out of the station and fled northbound on 74th Street.

The suspect is described as black, 25 to 35 years old, 6’2″ to 6’4″, 155lbs, with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap.
