Police are searching for a man who assaulted and attempted to rob a teenager in East Elmhurst last month.
According to the report, the 16-year-old victim was standing in front of the McDonald’s at 88-05 Astoria Boulevard on March 19 around 2:20 a.m. when a man approached him.
The suspect allegedly punched the teen in the face and tried to remove property from the victim’s pocket before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a 25 to 27-year-old black man around 5-foot-8 with a dark complexion, brown eyes, and black braided hair. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and brown boots.
Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS
