Man breaks into cell phone store, takes off with $9,000 worth of phones, NYPD says

Police are searching for a suspect who broke into a Roosevelt Ave cell phone store and took off with more than $9,000 worth of cell phones earlier this month.

The alleged perpetrator cut a hole in the back wall of the cell phone store, located at 97-09 Roosevelt Ave. Once inside the store the suspect grabbed approximately $9,500 worth of cell phones, the NYPD said.

The incident occurred on July 9th at roughly 9:05 pm.

Police released a photo of the suspect taken from surveillance footage, which shows the man wearing baggy pants and a shirt that covers part of his head.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills and Transit District 20 are looking for a man, who is built like an NFL player, for allegedly groping a 50-year-old woman as she waited for the subway near the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst on Monday morning.

The victim was standing on the southbound M/R platform at the 59th Avenue subway station on the Queens Boulevard line when a stranger approached her and touched her left buttocks, police said. The brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured during the incident.
