Man breaks into unlocked car in Jackson Heights, makes off with $1,500 cash, police say

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole $1,500 from a car in Jackson Heights last month.

According to the report, an unknown man illegally entered an unlocked parked car near Northern Boulevard and 74th Street on February 24 around 6 p.m. and stole $1,500 in cash from inside before fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man around 60 years old with short brown hair. He was observed on nearby surveillance cameras, and was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue waist length jacket, a blue hooded jacket, grey shoes and holding a walking cane.

Police have released a video of the suspect and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
