Santa has traded in his sleigh for a bicycle.

The Queens Bike Initiative is leading its second annual “Santa Ride” around Jackson Heights and East Elmhurst this weekend and is inviting families to follow Santa Claus around the neighborhood on a kid-friendly bike ride.

The ride will begin and end at Travers Park on 34th Avenue, running from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. There will be holiday themed activities along the way, and participants are encouraged to come in “Santa-inspired wear,” and to bring water and a bike lock for stops along the way.

There will be a police escort for the ride to ensure the event is safe for kids to participate.

If it rains on Saturday, the ride will be rescheduled to Sunday.

Man sought for allegedly groping a subway rider while she waited on a platform in Elmhurst: NYPD

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills and Transit District 20 are looking for a man, who is built like an NFL player, for allegedly groping a 50-year-old woman as she waited for the subway near the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst on Monday morning.

The victim was standing on the southbound M/R platform at the 59th Avenue subway station on the Queens Boulevard line when a stranger approached her and touched her left buttocks, police said. The brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured during the incident.
