Woman dead after being struck by 7 train at Roosevelt/74th Street Station

A woman is dead after being struck by a 7 train late last night in Jackson Heights, according to officials.

According to the FDNY, the woman was hit by a Manhattan bound 7 train entering the Roosevelt 74th Street station at 11:04 p.m.

Medical personnel transported her in critical condition to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was reported dead on arrival, according to an MTA spokesman.

The police have yet to release any further information on the incident.

If only there are more MTA platform conductors to prevent future passenger falls, injuries and/or deaths on the tracks, especially when these stations are overcrowded such as the 74th Street-Broadway station. That’s the short term. In the long term, the MTA should invest in testing platform screening doors like in Seoul, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Ironicly I almost lost my left leg or even my life last night when I feel between the train and the platform. Feel bad for that lady. That would e 2 in one day.

Her name was Samiha Khan and she was my first cousin
She was not struck… she took her own life.
