NYPD: Woman commits suicide at Elmhurst Avenue station

An unidentified woman in her 30s committed suicide at the Elmhurst Avenue subway station this morning, police said.

Several witnesses saw the woman jump on to the train tracks just after 9 a.m., police said, but they did not specify which track.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the MTA website there are delays on the E,F,M, and R trains following the incident.

An investigation is ongoing, according to police.

i saw her body get smashed by the train. Her head was crushed like a melon. It was pretty grotesque. Blood and guts everywhere. I feel sorry for the family. I don’t know what they will have left to bury. You don’t look good after a million pounds of steel and another several hundred thousand pounds of human beings run over you. Sad.
