Man dies days after bicycle accident in Elmhurst, cops start investigation

A bicyclist was struck by a car in Elmhurst earlier this month, suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and then died days later, the police announced Friday.

Antonio Flores, the victim, was struck by a car while riding eastbound on Broadway on July 7 at about 8:05 am.

The car was headed in the same direction on Broadway but hit Flores when it made a left turn onto northbound Baxter Ave, cops said.

After the incident, Flores walked into Elmhurst Hospital with an arm injury and was treated and released. Flores returned to the hospital on July 10th and passed away on July 11th, police said.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating his death and the incident.

Flores, 59, lived on Vieter Ave in Elmhurst.
