The family of Doniqueca Cooke, the 21-year-old who was fatally struck and killed in a hit and run last month, is seeking help to cover funeral costs.

Cooke’s family launched a Go Fund Me page last week seeking $15,000 to help cover funeral and burial expenses.

Cooke was killed on June 30 when a Porsche traveling westbound on the Horace Harding Expressway jumped the sidewalk at the intersection with Junction Boulevard. The driver, who police have identified as Irene Lee, struck Cooke and a cyclist, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown’s office.

Lee then continued southbound on Junction Boulevard where she also collided with two cars, a Mini Cooper and a Toyota Camry, that were waiting for the traffic light to change, according to the NYPD.

Cooke suffered blunt force trauma to the head. She died as a result of these injuries.

Cooke was a “beautiful, loving, bright young lady” following her dream of becoming an occupational therapist at CUNY York College, according to the Go Fund Me page.

She was just a block away from her home when she was struck and killed, the page states.

Lee was arrested and faces charges of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting death, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting serious injury, and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting property damage, according to Brown’s office.

As of this writing, the page has raised $2,675 with donations from 66 people since July 6.

Those interested in donating can do so online here.
