Police are searching for a suspect who brutally attempted to rape a woman in Corona.
The man allegedly grabbed the 33-year-old woman by her throat and demanded that she take him to her apartment, according to the NYPD. He grabbed her at 3:45 a.m. on May 31, in the vicinity of 42nd Avenue and Warren Street.
The woman attempted to fight her attacker off and he punched her in the mouth and stomach several times. He then threw the victim down to the ground and inserted his fingers into her vagina, police said.
The victim began to yell out for help and the suspect fled eastbound on 42nd Avenue.
Police have released a surveillance video and photos of the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male between 5’5” and 5’7” tall. He was last seen wearing a checkered shirt and dark colored pants.
