Sen. Bernie Sanders stopped by a longstanding Jackson Heights restaurant for lunch yesterday, just ahead of New York’s Tuesday primary.

Sanders arrived at Jahn’s, located at 81-04 37th Ave., on Monday at about 3:30 p.m., according to co-owner Peter Moukas.

Sanders ate lunch at the restaurant and ice cream shop. He was there for about an hour, Moukas said.

“He had a bowl of chicken soup, a B.L.T. on rye and a scoop of coffee ice cream,” Moukas said.

A large crowd followed Sanders to the restaurant, according to Moukas.

“There was his staff, secret service agents and many, many supporters,” he said. “There were about 100 people outside the restaurant trying to get a glimpse of him through the window.”

Many of the people were taking photos and videos on their cellphones, Moukas added.IMG_4697

Moukas said he felt honored that Sanders decided to come to his restaurant.

“I am very proud and grateful that he chose my place,” Moukas said. “It was interesting and exciting.”

“We feel very special,” co-owner Nick Moukas said.

Sanders spent the day prior to the New York primary traveling throughout Western Queens.

He was at Bareburger on 31st Avenue in Astoria yesterday afternoon, before hosting a rally, which thousands of people attended, at Hunter’s Point South Park in Long Island City.

The victim was standing on the southbound M/R platform at the 59th Avenue subway station on the Queens Boulevard line when a stranger approached her and touched her left buttocks, police said. The brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured during the incident.
