The police are searching for a man who allegedly pushed a 15-year-old girl onto the subway tracks last night as a 7 train was approaching at the Roosevelt Ave and 103 Street Station.
The suspect approached the woman on the Manhattan-bound platform from behind at 8:40 pm Saturday and pushed her in front of an oncoming 7 train, police said.
The motorman of the train saw the woman on the train tracks and he activated the emergency brake.
The woman was able to position herself between the platform and the wheels of the train, police said. She was taken to Elmhurst hospital via EMS with only minor injuries. The suspect fled from the mezzanine area of the station toward the street area, police said.
The individual being sought is described as a male Hispanic, mid-to-late 20’s, 5’5″, last seen wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers.
The police have released surveillance video of the suspect fleeing the scene.
