The Queens Center Mall will soon serve cheesecake.
The popular chain restaurant The Cheesecake Factory will open inside the mall, located at 90-15 Queens Blvd., in the coming months, the company has confirmed.
“Yes, we will be opening in Queens Center in Elmhurst,” said Alethea Rowe, Senior Director of Public Relations for The Cheesecake Factory.
“We anticipate opening this winter,” she added.
This will be the first Cheesecake Factory in New York City.
John Scaturro, Senior Manager of Marketing with the Queens Center Mall, spoke positively of the opening.
“We are excited The Cheesecake Factory will be joining us because they will provide a nice, interesting dining alternative to our guests and our community,” he said.
The restaurant will open on the street level of the JC Penny side of the mall – the corner of 92nd Street and 59th Avenue – according to Scaturro.
At this time it is unclear whether the restaurant will have its own entrance from the street or if customers will only be able to enter through the mall.
The first The Cheesecake Factory opened in Beverly Hills, Calif. in 1978. Today the company has over 200 restaurants around the world, according to its website.
