A 28-year-old man was roughed up and robbed by two muggers who were last seen running towards Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights late last month.
Police from the 115th Precinct reported that the victim was walking past a home at 37-19 89th St. during the early morning of Tuesday, June 29 when he was approached by two strangers at 4:15 a.m., who then shoved him into the brick fence in front of the house.
One of the assailants pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the man if he did not comply, and the perpetrators forcibly removed $300 in cash, a cell phone and the victim’s wallet before running southbound toward Roosevelt Avenue.
The victim was not injured during the mugging, and the two suspects remain at large nearly two weeks later.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on Thursday and described them as having light complexions and dark hair. They both wore black t-shirts and black pants and while one wore white sneakers, the other assailant wore gray sneakers.
A reward of up to $3,500 is offered for information leading to their arrest.

Through July 7, the 115th Precinct has reported 221 robberies so far in 2024, 66 more than the 155 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 42.6%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Assaults are also on the rise in the 115th Precinct with 239 reported so far this year, 80 more than the 239 reported at the same point in 2023, an increase of 33.5%, according to CompStat.
