The police are looking for two men who swiped $3,500 from a 56-year-old man in front of a grocery store on 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights last month.
The suspects approached the man outside Apna Bazar Farmers Market, located at 72-20 37th Ave., at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2 while the victim was shopping for fruit.
One of the men distracted the victim by throwing garbage on the 56-year-old’s back, while a second man swiped cash from the victim’s bag.
Police say the thieves took $3,520 from the bag before fleeing the scene.
Both suspects are described as being approximately 30 to 40 years of age with light skin complexions.
Police released video and photos on one of the suspects taken from the supermarket.

This is not good place in Jackson heights because dark out. Lot of crazy people at late . 72 stret and 37 avnue and 71stret too
This neighborhood is very dangerous.
I was picked pocked recently 3 blocks away. It was soon after I left Foodtown at 37th Ave & 75th St by 2 light skinned males. They must have been inside the supermarket and noticed I placed my wallet inside my right side jacket. One distracted me while the other took my wallet. It contained only $32 in cash and nothing else. No debit/credit cards, drivers license, etc.. I only take a debit card if I need to use an ATM Machine and I never carry more then $50. I was not aware it happened until I got home. This victim was carrying $3500 cash. Shocking.
This guy was obviously targeted. Unless one of the robbers was The Amazing Kreskin and had a 6th sense that the victim was carrying $3500 on him.
